Artist’s inflammatory comments divide fans

Ye, the rapper and music producer formerly known as Kanye West, has seen his career fall into disarray following a recent interview with Lex Fridman in which West blames Jews for a “Holocaust” against Black Americans. In another interview with Alex Jones, West said he loves Jewish people, but also loves the Nazis and praises Hitler. West argued that the small number of Black people in America today is a result of genocide and population control promoted by the media and music made by Black people recording for Jewish-owned record labels.

As a result, Junior Jolie Russo has changed her mind about the artist.

“He says a lot of insensitive things that I personally do not agree with,” she said. “I don’t think I can support an artist who uses their platform so negatively.”

West’s mother, Donda, passed away in late 2007, reportedly sending him into a depression spiral. Last year, West released an album titled “Donda” to honor her and their bond.

“I feel like Kanye is really just misunderstood” said a freshman who asked to remain anonymous. “After his mother died, his whole mental health just deteriorated. I’m sure he never wanted this to become such a huge problem.”

After West separated from his wife Kim Kardashian in February of 2021, his ex-wife began dating an actor named Pete Davidson.

“I think him saying this stuff is an outlet for all the hate he has for Pete Davidson, especially because Pete has Jewish ancestry,” the freshman said. “All in all, Kanye messed up. But I will continue to listen to his music because I know he is better than this.”
