The school is sending a combined 33 musicians from band, orchestra and ensemble to perform on the All-State and All-County level for their respective musical groups. Getting into All-State or even All-County is no simple task. Students have to compete with hundreds of other students from within their county for All-County and for All-State they have to compete with Students from the whole state by playing scales and music.

Sophomore Ben Pinfield said he’s glad he made it into All-State Orchestra, but also disappointed in his placement.

“I’m glad I made it because it’s cool to be in an orchestra players on my level,” Pinfield said “But I’m a bit disappointed because I’m a second violin.”

Freshmen James Leonard who made it into All-County Orchestra along with 17 other students said he’s proud of the group’s accomplishment. Leonard also tried out for All-State. but wasn’t accepted.

“We have a successful program with talented students.” Leonard said. “I’m fine with the outcome, there is a lot of school work to make up if you go.”
