Volleyballers upset Palm Bay, Eau Gallie

Senior Meagan Larsen had four kills and four assists and junior Tess Sheets had five assists, two aces and four digs to lead the Lady Wildcats volleyball team to a 25-19, 25-14 victory against Palm Bay in the Preseason Classic tournament in the Palm Bay High School gym Tuesday night.  The triumph marked the first time in school history the Lady Wildcats defeated the Lady Pirates.

“West Shore came out battling against tough competition in the Palm Bay Preseason Classic,” Coach Bonnie Priester said. “The Wildcats showed that we are a force to be reckoned with.”

Although the underdogs in the tournament, the Lady Wildcats went on to beat Eau Gallie High School 25-20, 25-19 in a second match.  As junior Kylie Wenger accumulated 11 digs, the rest of the varsity team rallied to win points by killing the ball on the Lady Commodores’ side of the court.
