The volleyball team held off a comeback effort by the Space Coast Vipers and won 20-25, 25-12, 25-18, 18-25, 15-10 in five sets on Tuesday. Junior Tess Sheets led the way with 12 kills, while Senior Megan Larsen and Junior Aalekhya Tenali both added six aces.
The team improved to 4-1 overall under new Coach Bonnie Priester.
“This team is completely different from last year,” said Junior Kylie Wenger, who added nine digs and three aces Tuesday night. “We’re really out there to win.”
Wenger said she also was proud that the fans have been so supportive.
“With our cheerful and amazing fans, and an always positive attitude, the Lady Wildcats pulled out another amazing win,” she said.
Priester said she’s with the way her team is developing and coming together, but recognizes that the competition is just beginning.
“With every competition we get better and better, stronger and more confident,” Priester said. “Two more district competitions this week will test us even further.”
The Lady Wildcats travel to Astronaut on Wednesday and Cocoa on Thursday in an effort to continue their hot start under Priester.
