After a defeating Cocoa Beach 3-1 on Monday night in the district quarterfinal, the Lady Wildcats volleyball team lost to Astronaut in five sets, 25-11, 27-25, 25-22, 25-22, 13-15 on Tuesday night in the district semifinal, ending their season.

“Even though things didn’t go the way we wanted them to, I think that everyone would agree that we played our hearts out and left it all out on the court,” junior Emily Shoemaker said. ” We had a rough start both nights but ultimately played to the best of our ability and played hard.”

Although, facing adversity during the game, the team still battled and took Astronaut to five sets.

“In the district semifinal we gave it everything we could,” junior Samantha Intille said. “We didn’t end up with the result we wanted, but we fought till the end and didn’t give up when we were down two sets to one. It’s upsetting but we gave it our all for each other.”
