Volleyball downs Cocoa in four sets

Senior Tess Sheets led the team with 13 kills and the volleyball team combined for a total of  24 aces and 59 digs to secure a 23-25, 25-17, 25-11, 25-15 victory against the Cocoa Tigers on Thursday. The team is now 7-3 for the season.

“We had great offensive plays from Tess Sheets and Alyssa Johnson,” Coach Bonnie Priester said.

Sophomore Casey Schaumen scored 16 points across all four sets.

“Cocoa played a scrappy game and won the first set of the match,”  Priester said after the game.

But the Wildcats pushed through and completed the job.  As the game progressed West Shore pulled all loose ends together and found a way to the victory.

“The Wildcats regrouped and picked up their defense to stop the Tigers from scoring,” Priester said.
