Purrfections stomp at regionals

The varsity Purrfections dance team placed fifth in the jazz division and tied for fourth in the pom division at the United Dance Association Regionals in Sanford on Monday, securing the highest ranking position the dance team has held. In addition, the junior varsity and middle school each took third place in their divisions.

“I was very proud of all the teams,” Coach April Shaw said.  “We went up against teams that win at the national level, and the fact that we beat all the teams from Brevard county that we went up against was the best reward for me as well as for the team.”

Since June of 2012 the team has been cleaning and getting these routines ready to compete.

“I felt that everything we worked for finally paid off,” sophomore Erin Sheridan said.  “Last year we went from placing in the middle to placing in top five, and to us that was our greatest accomplishment.”
