Larsen, Wenger star in losing effort

Senior Meagan Larsen and junior Kylie Wenger combined for a total of 43 digs while junior Tess Sheets led the team with 14 kills as the volleyball team fell to the Space Coast Vipers in four sets 24-26, 23-25, 25-14, and 26-28.

“It was a hard-fought match with the Wildcats coming up on the short end,” Coach Bonnie Priester said. “We had better offensive production [compared to last weeks performance], but we need to cut down our unforced errors in preparation for the Edgewood game.”

The team now holds a 9-5 overall district record. The Lady Wildcats will be facing off against Edgewood Jr./Sr High School on Friday in Merritt Island.

“Based on the fact that our last couple matches have been quite atrocious, its really important that we do good in our game against Edgewood,” Sheets said. “We lost our mo-jo last week,  but our game on Tuesday against Space Coast showed that we’re slowly getting it back. I’m really hoping that we step it up and have a good game like the last time [we played Edgewood].”
