Lacrosse coach fires up team

Coach Don Bourlier, West Shore’s new boys’ lacrosse coach has excited players with his plans for the upcoming season. Recently, the coach gathered returning and new players for an informational meeting with a pep-rally feel.

With 25 years of coaching experience, Bourlier’s most recent position was coach of Melbourne Central Catholic’s lacrosse program for six years. His experience and enthusiasm has captured the players’ attention.

“I think that he knows what he’s talking about and that his coaching will definitely help us when it comes to winning,” sophomore Ryan Bellone said.

Boulier plans to start pre-seasoning conditioning next week. FHSAA mandates that the use of lacrosse sticks is not allowed until January. Until then, conditioning will include running and other cardiovascular drills.

“Coach Boulier’s work ethic and love of the sport are infectious,”  booster club Treasurer Amy Moore said. “He is going to be a great addition to West Shore’s lacrosse program.”
