Golf Invitational to benefit education

The 20th annual Golf Invitational and Stroke of Life Party has been scheduled for June 5-6. A Stroke of Luck party will be held at the riverfront estate of Keith and Lila Buescher on Merritt Island from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on June 5. A $100 donation admits two and a provides a chance to win $5,000. Tickets will be available at the party.

Then, on June 6, a golf tournament will be held at Duran Golf Club in Viera. Proceeds from both events will benefit the Brevard Schools Foundation.

Sophomore Maddie McCluskey explains how to play the sport.

“In golf you try to get the lowest number of strokes possible to get in the hole,” McCluskey said. “You might not be able to tell that from the girls’ golf scores this year, but that’s how it is supposed to be played.”

“I was on golf team this year,” sophomore Kenzie Scott said. “It was a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to do it next year.”
