Girls’ soccer defeats Trinity Prep

Punching in a goal with only seven minutes left in the game, senior Ciera Misner put the girls’ varsity soccer team over the top in a victory Wednesday night against the Trinity Prep Saints. The Lady Wildcats beat the Saints 2-1.

“It was a tough game considering they were a good team, and we have a couple of injured players who didn’t play,” captain and junior Jenna Forry said. “Brittany Etrick and I both pulled our hamstrings, and Amanda Farthing broke her toe.”

Sophomore Claire Rauchfuss scored before halftime.

“Erin Berube had a nice throw in down the field  which led to my score,” Rauchfuss said. “We sort of had the advantage the whole game, but we struggled in the second half.”

The team plays again at Satellite on Friday night.
