Girls’ season ends with double OT loss

Junior Jenna Forry scored the Lady Wildcats’ only goal  as the girls’ soccer team lost in double-overtime to Trinity Prep 2-1 in the regional quarterfinals Wednesday night. The teams were tied 1-1 at the end of the regulation play, but Saints sophomore Leah Krinker scored her second goal of the night three minutes into the second overtime period, ending West Shore’s season at 15-5-2 overall and 9-1-1 in district play.

“It was a disappointing loss,” junior Sarah Brusca said. “It was a fight-until-the-last-second type of game. We have no regrets, and we put it all out for the seniors.”

The loss means the district champion Wildcats will not advance to the regional semifinals.

“We came out with heart, and we did the best we could,” junior goalkeeper Desiree Shields said.
