Girls’ lacrosse starts up

Starting today at 3:45, the girls’ lacrosse will be having tryouts on the north soccer field. Tryouts are open to girls in all grades. Players must bring EL2, EL3, and ELCH physical forms to participate, along with the necessary equipment. Previous players have been anxiously awaiting the start of this years season.

“We are all really excited for this year’s season to start,” returning player Lindsay Gorham said. “I think we will do better this year because a lot of schools got new teams so we will be one of the more experienced teams.”

Practices will begin Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., and will be held Monday through Friday.

“Having been given the opportunity to be manager last year, I was able to see the team grow and become more of a unit instead of a bunch of indivdual talent,” manager Alex Hamaker said. “It should be interesting to see where this season takes us.”

The team plays its first game against Cocoa Beach at 6 p.m. on Feb. 19.
