Girls’ basketball suffers close loss

The Lady Wildcats started strong against the Cocoa Beach Minutemen with a  29-18 lead at the half, but the Minutemen came back strong and slipped by with a score of 46-44 Wednesday night. The girls fell to 6-2 after an emphatic 50-26 win at Master’s Academy on Tuesday. Hana Bilicki led the team with seven assists.

“We started out really well, and we were up by 11 at the half. Unfortunately, most of our starters like got into foul trouble in the second half. The loss was hard on us because it was so close,” Bilicki said.

Senior Victoria D’Esposito and Freshman Gillian Foster led the team in scoring with 14 points and 13 points respectively.

Next Tuesday, the girls will have to confront the Minutemen again at Cocoa Beach with the JV game set to begin at 5:30 p.m. and Varsity at 7 p.m.
