Girls’ hoops falls to No. 1 MCC

In its second game of the season the girls’ basketball team failed to pull out a victory, losing 34-33 to Melbourne Central Catholic, the No. 1 team in the district Wednesday night .

Sophomore point guard Lydia Kline led the Lady Wildcats with 13 points.

Junior guard Krishna Davda saw the close loss as a learning experience.

“It was a good loss because MCC is very good. We learned a lot, but we didn’t really give all we had, so we fell just short by one point,” Davda said.

The team’s record dropped to 1-1 .

“Hopefully, we will get a better result in the next game,” Davda said.

The team travels to Satellite on Monday night to play the Scorpions, with JV tipping off at 5:30 p.m. and varsity at 7 p.m.
