Defending soccer champs set roster

After three days of tryouts, the boys’ soccer team decided on its 2012-2013 roster. The varsity team includes four seniors, six juniors, six sophomores, four freshman, and one eight grader. The varisty roster is as follows:Seniors: James Bocinsky, Jimmy Madden, Tyler Moscrip and Liam Wixted.
Juniors: David Almeida, Danny Dolnik, Richard Dujovne, Brandon Duncan, James Murren and Ryan Robidoux.
Sophomores: Steven Tenbusch, Darshan Ghayal, Sam Kundrat, Brad Mooney, Noah Quinones and Aidan Wixted.
Freshmen: John Hogan, Allen Joyner, Robert Madden, Brandon Sepulveda and Sam Leighton.Defending its state championship, the team is hopeful for a successful season.

“I think it is going to take a while to get back into our system,” senior Liam Wixted said. “But I think we will be as good as we were last year.”

The team will play a total of 20 regular-season games, one being against Berkley Prepatory, the losing opponent of last year’s state championship.

“Teams are now out to get us after winning state,” junior Jimmy Murren said. “Playing Berkley Prep will be a tough game because they’ll be out for blood, but we will be able to hold our own.”

The team will play a scrimmage against the Lady Wildcats’ soccer team in the annual Blue and Silver game scheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m.
