Cheerleading not all fun and games
With exams coming up soon, Tuesday 16, 2014, here at west shore the cheerleaders are going to be busy. While they are not cheering on the basketball team they are studying hard to pass their exams. They still have to balance their academics with their sports. They still have to go to practice this week even though they have midterms.
Kevin Jones is a member of the West Shore Cheerleading squad, he is also a senior. He has to do his senior project because he is a senior and he also has a job. Kevin is going to let us know how he balances his time between cheer, work, and school.
“It has been extremely stressful with us having cheer practice every day and even more so with basketball games going on”, said Kevin Jones. “This being my senior year and all it has been hard because I have my senior project and not to mention I also have a job during the week after school. I can’t wait until our exams are done, I have to still keep my grades up so it has not been exciting.”
On the other side of this of the story is senior Amanda Moscrip. She has no problem balancing her time with exams and cheer. She must also do a senior project this year.
“I don’t really think it is that big of a problem…” said Amanda.” I do the same thing every year and I don’t find it that difficult. Don’t get me wrong you do have to work hard with all the studying and training but in the end I think that it is worth it, I am creating memories that will last a life time.”
Even though they have cheerleading to do it is a great way to spend your time. They must keep up their grades while having their practices.
