The West Shore boys soccer team was recognized by the county commissioners on Tuesday night for the state title they won in February. The team met at the Viera Government Complex at 6 p.m.

“This whole experience feels surreal,” junior Kishan Ghayal said. “The team and I are extremely grateful to have gone all the way and won states because the hard work paid off. The meeting was very different than experiences that students nowadays are used to. Getting recognition from the county commissioners was very cool. Coach Bob said some nice words about the team and the season and that was pretty much it.”

The county commission passed the resolution unanimously to recognize the Wildcats as the 2A State Champions. A video of the meeting can be found at the following website, at the 17th minute:
