Boys’ soccer ties Titans

Despite an early goal by junior Jimmy Murren, the boys’ soccer team could not hold off the Treasure Coast Titans, playing to a 1-1 tie.

The team was winning from halfway through the first half and most of the second half until the Titans punched in a late goal, with just minutes to play in the game.

“It’s just a slump,” Murren said. “It’s a team game, everyone is responsible and the sooner we can get over this the better. It’s a calamity of errors and a set of mental mistakes, it’s not really defense or the keeper, the ball needs to stop at the front”

The team has tied four of their last five games and one solution is to have harder practices and more consequenses according to captain Jimmy Madden.

“Although the team doesn’t want harder practices, we need to find a way to put more fight in the players,” Madden said. “As individuals though, more practice won’t change the ability to have heart and put 100 percent into the game.”

The team next plays on Thursday against Edgewood with J.V. starting at 5:30 p.m. and varsity at 7 p.m.
