Boys’ soccer tames Tigers, Montverde next
With one goal each from seniors Ryan Robidoux, Danny Dolnik and Jimmy Murren; the Wildcats boys’ soccer team bested Cocoa 3-0 in their first away game of the season.
“To be honest, we had a rough game,” Robidoux said. “We weren’t able to finish on several attacks but we moved the ball well and created good opportunities. We just need to be more clinical.”
The team will next take on Montverde Academy tonight in a varsity-only game beginning at 7 p.m.
Last year, Montverde was atop the Maxpreps.com national high school soccer rankings and finished the season 25-0. West Shore has played Montverde in each of the last three years, but has yet to beat the perennially successful Eagles. Despite struggles from years past, this year’s Wildcats are optimistic.
“It is going to be tough but we have been preparing for this game all this week,” Dolnik said. “We know that we are going to have to play the best we can to have a chance to beat this team, and I know we can.”
