Boys’ soccer stumbles against Montverde once again

Despite a valiant effort against one of the nation’s top teams, the boys’ soccer team failed to overcome the Montverde Falcons sharp passing and relentless offensive attack, falling 2-1.

Senior captain Tyler Moscrip scored the single goal for the Wildcats with a header assisted by a corner kick by sophomore Aidan Wixted.

“We played well defensively, but we seemed to have problems when we won the ball,” Moscrip said. “We seemed to want to hit long balls to get the ball out of our half which isn’t out style of play.”

The team sees the loss as a good learning experience, and while the wanted a victory, they can gain a lot from a defeat at the hands of such a talented team.

“Now we know we need to work on keeping possession of the ball and quick passes to help get out of tight areas against good teams like Montverde,” Moscrip said.

The team plays the Trinity Prepatory Saints on Wednesday at 7 p.m, in a double header, with the Girls’ game preceding the boys’, at 5:30 p.m.
