With two goals each, seniors Liam Wixted and James Bocinsky led the boys’ soccer team to an 8-0 victory against the Space Coast on Monday. So total was West Shore’s domination that the slaughter rule kicked in and referees ended the game shortly after the second half started.
“I feel good with starting out with such a big win in our first game of the season,” Wixted said. “ Last night’s game is just a preview of what is to come the rest of the season.”
With one goal each, junior Jimmy Murren and sophomores Brad Mooney, Darshan Ghayal and Sam Kundrat assisted in the Wildcat onslaught.
“We did really well passing and penetrating their defense,” Kundrat said. “We need to work on moving the ball faster down the field, but overall I’m happy with our win.”
The team will play away at East River on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
