Boys rally past Edgewood 48-44

Mounting a furious comeback, the varsity boys’ basketball team defeated rivals Edgewood 48-44 in a home game Friday night.  The Wildcats, who trailed by 13 at the half, scored 24 of their 48 points in the fourth quarter,

Senior shooting guard Anthony Wattwood led the charge with 17 points, five rebounds and two steals.

“I think the way we played defense in the fourth quarter was really important,” Wattwood said. “We just locked up their best players, and we got a lot of steals and basically made everything really hard for them.”

Other contributers included John Bond who scored had a double-double, scoring 14 points and grabbing 13 rebounds and senior Scott Adams who had 9 points, including a crucial 4-point play with only minutes left in the game.

The boys will next play at home against Astronaut on Tuesday. JV tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
