Boys head to Crescent City for soccer regional title game

The varsity boys’ soccer team will be traveling more than two hours to compete in the regional final against Crescent City High School on Wednesday. The team will begin boarding a bus during sixth period and leave the school shortly thereafter. Junior Ian Leighton looks forward to the journey.

“I think bus rides help build our team chemistry and help everyone come together before the game,” Leighton said. “The only bad thing about bus rides is if we lose, then the ride home is kind of depressing. We usually win so the ride home is really fun.”

Senior Ben Lack is taking steps to prepare for the game.

“I feel like the team is performing really well, and I think we are all up to the challenge,” Lack said. “We have been really focused on our shooting, and we have been doing a lot of shooting drills during practice. Everyone is hitting the ball well.”

The game marks the fourth time in seven years the Wildcats have played for the regional championship.
