Freshman Kishen Mitra eyes his putt

Last night against Merritt Island High School, the Wildcat boys’ golf team lost 165-202. They fall to 2-6 on the season, with five meets remaining. Freshman Kishen Mitra led the ‘Cats with a score of 46, followed by three Wildcats with 52.

“Being on the golf team is really fun,” junior Wesley Dennis said. “We have to practice a lot, because it is a really hard sport. But it definitely brings us all together. We played last night at our home course, Viera East, and I thought we did really well, despite the loss. Coach put some of the less experience golfers in, which I thought was smart to get them some experience, considering a lot of the team is graduating in a year or two.”

They play again tonight against Palm Bay, at 4:00 p.m.
