As part of the AP Calculus BC Pi Day celebration, senior Joy Sawangkum helps herself to an array of sweets while solving volumes of revolution problems. Math teacher Annabelle Nery organized a Pi Day party in all of her geometry and calculus classes, and included specific food-related activities. Sawangkum’s assignment, for instance, involved modeling candies and chocolates as functions and finding their volumes. Despite its lighthearted nature, the activity was still part of the class’s review and preparation for the AP exam, which will be on May 5th.
