Into the fire
September 8, 2015
Preparing to fire his fish sculpture, senior Allen Joyner takes directions from art teacher Matt Henderson on Tuesday. “It was fun to have something I can picture in my head, manipulate myself, and then make the way I wanted to,” Joyner said. “There were no guidelines, no restrictions on what I could do. I could do what I wanted and form what I wanted.” Students had three weeks to complete the assignment.

"We've had no issues, no snafus. Everything's been running smoothly, and we've been getting kids to class on time.”](https://westshoreroar.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/IMG_9979-1200x800.jpg)
