Loading history teacher Kirk Murphy’s car with dog and cat food, junior Alex St. Pierre Pesant checks over the donations Thursday. “The South Area Animal Center put out a need for food during the summer because they have a lot more puppies and kitties,” Murphy said. “Somebody needs to help them, and it’s a good thing.” So far Murphy has collected 676 pounds of food, not including cans. He said he would like to thank the PTA, teachers, students, parents and the administration for helping him.
