Sophomores Gerry Sola and Colin Patterson blast through an original song during Sound & Vision Night on Thursday. The other two members of their band were not available to play, but that didn’t deter the duo from winning the Best in Show prize for the evening. “We’re half a band tonight, but I guarantee you’ll get a whole show,” Sola announced as the pair took the stage. Sola delivered on his promise as the school auditorium erupted in delight to his hard-rock guitar workout. Throughout the night, audience members voted for their favorites in six categories. First-place winners included seniors Lucas Issitt for video, Ana Rosal for spoken word and Joy Sawangkum for digital art along with juniors Gianni Valenti for photography, Lisette Guerra for drawing and painting and Lauren McMillan for live musical performance. Sound & Vision Night was hosted by Quill & Scroll international journalism honor society and National Art Honor Society.
