Seniors Danielle Jerdon and Jamie Coxx create an osteon structure with Play-Doh in Sherie Jenkins’ sixth-period anatomy class. Osteons, the fundamental functional unit of compact bone, are roughly cylindrical structures that are typically several millimeters long and around 0.2mm in diameter. They can be found in many bones of most mammals and some birds.
