West Shore dominates science fair

West Shore dominates science fair

Three West Shore student took home Best of Show awards at the Brevard Regional Science and Engineering Fair in the Merritt Square Mall on Saturday. Senior Michelle Chin won in the senior biological category, senior Varun Bansal won in the senior physical category and eighth-grader River G. won in the junior division.

In all, 47 of the 65 West Shore students that competed placed. Seniors Rashad Abdulla and Sanju Vardhan each took the runner-up positions for Best of Show for the senior division and eighth-grader Mohammed A. won the junior division runner-up for best of show. Bansal and Chin will both move on to compete in the International Science and Engineering Fair in Phoenix in May.

The following students placed first in their senior division category, and will move on to compete at state:
