Student Government officers announced

High school Student Government Association had their officer elections this past week.  All of the elected officers are also members of the Purrfections dance team.  Junior Keiran Sheridan was elected president as well as  sophomore Erin Sheridan as vice president, Michelle Maldonado as secretary and Alicia Ortiz as treasurer.

“I think it will be a nice opportunity to work with my sister and for us do something together,” Erin Sheridan said.  “It will be easier to work on stuff because if we don’t finish it in club we can finish it at home.”

Students running for office had to be at least a freshman, be in high school SGA for one year and they also needed a teacher recommendation and a 3.0 GPA.  Each officer also has to show some example of leadership throughout the previous year.

“I am so proud of my girls for stepping up and being leaders for the student body,” dance team coach April Shaw said.  “It shows that our girls are dedicated and know how to get the job done.”
