Spanish club cancels field trip
February 2, 2016
Spanish Honor Society members were disappointed to hear that their planned St. Augustine field trip will not be happening this school year. Due to the price of busing and the distance of the trip, club officers have decided the trip is impractical. However, they are looking into more local field trips that may be able to work.
“In our last meeting, we got a couple ideas for field trips,” said Margarita Cruz-Sanchez, vice president of Spanish Honor Society, “including Epcot, a spring or Ponce Inlet.”
Despite being slightly discouraged, freshman Jenna Franklin remains optimistic.
“I’m a little disappointed that we can’t go to St. Augustine,” she said, “but I understand why it would be difficult to go. Hopefully, we can still pull off a field trip, even if it’s more local.”
According to Cruz-Sanchez, Spanish Honor Society’s last fund-raiser of the year will be the International Fiesta.
