Student Government Association will play host to a “Just Dance 2” competition Sept. 2 from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the auditorium. The event was planned to raise money for Homecoming.
Contestants must pay a $5 entry fee and general admission tickets to the contest are $3. Tickets are currently on sale in the cafeteria during lunch.
“It’s a fun event and something different for students to try,” SGA member Nick de la Hoz said. “As far as I know, some teachers are giving extra credit to students who attend — as for which teachers, I’m not sure.”
Students can form teams of two to four members. The routines will be judged in the following categories: best performance, best costume, and overall best score. Prizes will be awarded to the winners.
“It’s fun for the staff to have the opportunity to see the students having fun, rather than sitting in the classroom with a blank look on their face,” SGA Sponsor Bob Sarver said.
