Morning meetings cause some to leave SGA

After an announcement that mandatory morning meetings will held twice a week, more than 10 members said they planned to leave the Student Government Association.

“We still have a strong team of people in the club, the more the merrier though,” said junior Jackie Heller, SGA treasurer.

Members are expected to meet in the auditorium at 7:45 a.m. every Tuesday and Friday, causing conflicts for many.

“I can’t get there every morning,” said junior Virginia Compton, a former member. “It’s not worth it. I’m probably not going to Homecoming anyways.”

According to SGA rules, if a member misses three meetings then they are dismissed from the club.
