Junior Class elections heat up

Jenna Winter and Natalie Brown have fired up their presidential campaigns as candidates for the Class of 2014 have declared their intent to run. In addition, Natalia Marmol is running for vice president along with Jimmy Murren, Ryan Wheat and Sierra Purden will face off for treasurer. Bailey Coolican and Kristina Manning are running for secretary, and Nora McSorely is campaigning for historian.

Coolican said she has already begun brainstorming her campaign slogans and what she’s going to do to get her name out there, including making posters and talking to sophomores around campus. Every participant in the running must prepare a speech to present in front of the Sophomore Class during an upcoming home-room presentation in the gym.

Sophomore Ryan Robidoux expressed enthusiasm for the process.

“I think these elections are a good thing because it give a real-world experience for students,” he said. “I think among the students it’s a tight race and should be a good battle and hopefully I’ll be getting some free stuff from the candidates.”
