Seniors Emily Canavan, Jordan Dale, Emily Erwin, Giao Huynh, Hannah Alba, Kara Dubec-Hunter and Rebekah Mercado were honored in the Senior Night festivities as the girls’ varsity volleyball team defeated the Brevard Heat in three sets on Friday night 25-8, 25-11, 25-11. 

“Friday night was the most fun game we’ve had all season, so I enjoyed it a lot,” Canavan said. “It will be weird not being able to play volleyball anymore but it’ll free up a lot of time so I can get a job so it’s sad but not too bad.”

For all of the seniors, it was one of their last games at home and it was an emotional night for Dale.

“I knew the nerves built up in a lot of us with the crowd we had, so overall I felt relief as we crushed it against the Brevard Heat,” Dale said. “I’m extremely sad the game as well as the night came to an end because it’s something a volleyball player looks forward to in prior years. I’m also unhappy the season is coming to an end because I’ll miss all the babies.”
