Fall festivals kick off with Oktoberfest
The season of fall has arrived, and all the events that come along with it. One of these is the Oktoberfest Fall Festival.
“There will be full-time stage vents, a Beetlejuice Spectacular Show from Universal Studios, and a Mrs. October Festival contest,” said Jane Dowd, the festival’s sponsor.
Dowd also states that there will be multiple live performances, hay rides, and pumpkin carving and decorating contests for both children and adults. Carnival rides, games, music, a German dance performance, arts and crafts, and a pumpkin patch will also be included.
Viera’s Fall Festival and Oktoberfest will take place at 2700 Judge Fran Jameson Way, Melbourne, FL 32940. The event runs from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, and from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 27. The admission is free.
One of Oktoberfest’s main events will be the “Walk 4 Heroes” walk series. The walk is a fundraiser to raise money for US veterans. Registration to participate is from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
“I’m most definitely excited for the food. Even though I’m German, I’ve never had real German food, so I’m excited to sample the German cuisine,” senior Luke Brunner said.
The food selection will consist of a wide variety of German delicacies. The festival offers a deal of a tray of different foods for only $10.
“I plan on attending,” Brunner said.
