The girls soccer team defeated MCC 3-1 in the district semi-final on Wednesday night. Junior Fallon Klenotich, still sidelined due to an ankle injury, said the game went better than expected.

“We were expecting it to be a more difficult game than it was,” Klenotich said. “The game turned out to be really aggressive but with all the hard work we’ve been putting in we were able to get the outcome we got.”

With the victory coming in the district semi-final it was the final game of the season for the Hustlers.

“Right after the game we had to say ‘good game’ to all their players,” Klenotich said. “The players on MCC, mostly the seniors, were all crying a lot.”

The Lady Wildcats will be competing in the district final game on Friday night against rival Edgewood.

“The last time we played Edgewood we lost 4-2,” Klenotich said. “So we are expecting it to be a lot harder than last night’s game. We are hoping to put the work in to get the outcome we need, we haven’t won districts in like 4 years.”

The game on Friday night kicks off at 6 p.m. at Cocoa High School.
