Actors feast on ‘Dinner’ comedy

Drama students will take the stage this weekend to perform “The Man Who Came To Dinner,” a comedy in three acts detailing the stay of famous radio personality Sheridan Whiteside — played by senior Sergio Carlos — at the Stanley house after an injury confines him to a wheelchair.

Junior Will Cosker debuts as an anarchist who falls in love with one of the main characters.

“This is my first production with West Shore theater, and I’m really enjoying myself,” Cosker said.

Senior Dulcy Olson, who plays a maid who frequently has to deal with Mr.Whiteside’s absurd requests, said she’s encouraged by the progress the show is making.

“So far I think [the show] is going well.” Olson said. “Although it’s quite stressful, everyone knows their lines and is putting forth full effort. I think the show will turn out great, and I know we will all have fun preforming it.”

Junior Nic Stelter is part of the technical crew for the show and has participated in many productions in the past.

“This tech week has been quite draining,” Stelter said. “But doing spot[lights] is a lot of fun and far better than the Capstone homework I would be doing otherwise.”

Performances are scheduled for Friday and Saturday night at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium.
