Wind Ensemble deemed excellent

Wind Ensemble received all excellent ratings for their performance at Eau Gallie High at their annual Music Performance Assessment  on March 11.

According to junior trumpeter Addison Duncan, the results for the Wind Ensemble’s stage performance were promising — they received all excellent ratings — but were hoping for superiors.

“We could have done  a lot better,” he said. “We definitely didn’t perform our best.”

While the results did not quite meet expectations, sophomore Adam Lizek said the future looks bright for the years to come.

“I think we have a really good shot of getting all superiors next year,” the clarinetist said. “We have a lot of good musicians coming into Wind Ensemble for next year.”

Wind Ensemble is still waiting on the results for the sight-reading portion of the assessment, but the feeling is that they performed better in this particular portion of the performance.

“We did really good on the sight-reading part,” Duncan said. “I feel like we got superior ratings. It was one of my personal best performances.”
