Weaver places first at Melbourne Art Festival

In the high school digital art and photography category, junior Gillian Weaver placed first in the digital art and photography category while sophomore Maggie Dercole placed and senior Andrew Hung placed third at the 33rd annual Melbourne Festival.

In addition, junior Ashley Rivera won second place in the high-school painting category and senior Braden Rabel won third place in the high school 3D/clay category.

“The Melbourne Art Festival is listed as among the top 100 art shows in the United States,” digital art teacher James Finch said. “It is a venue that showcases the talents of Brevard County students. MAF also signals the end of the year in regards to area art competitions for West Shore artists.”

Although the end of the year is near, the results from the Congressional Art Exhibition, Green Arts Program Exhibition, and the Dali Surrealists Exhibition have yet to be announced.
