Viera High initiates No Makeup Tuesdays

The pressure for being pretty and perfect in high school can bring a lot of stress towards teenage girls.  But Viera freshman Ashley Dinkheller plans on creating a club next year influenced by “Seventeen Magazine” called No Makeup Tuesdays.

“It’s all about letting people know they are beautiful no matter what,” Dinkheller said.  “We’ll be having meetings Tuesday afternoons, and we will have events and people come talk to us.”

About 200 students plan on joining No Makeup Tuesdays due to campaigning through TV Production messages and members handing out and putting up fliers around school.  Guest speakers, including experts from Bare Minerals, have been scheduled to explain to teenagers how to apply natural-looking makeup.

The members in No Makeup Tuesdays will be making club shirts to show support for their club and encourage others to join.
