Track meets, homework don’t mix

West Shore competed at nearby Eau Gallie High School on Thursday, but despite the close proximity, junior Timmy Pham put off doing homework until after the meet.

“I don’t ever do my homework at meets,” he said. “I just wait until I get home were I have a few hours to do it.”

Sophomore Lexi Krehbiel says doing homework at a track meet would be too distracting.

“I can’t really do homework at meets. The races are too exciting to miss,” she said.

While Krehbiel and  Robert Reis said they preferred meets close to home,  Pham expressed indifference.

“I honestly didn’t mind if [the meet] was far or near anyways,” he said.
