Thespians compete at state festival in Tampa

Actors of troupe 6034 currently are attending the State Thespian Festival at the Tampa Convention Center. There will be multiple performances including a one act, a large group musical, small group musical, duet, solos and play-writing.

West Shore orchestra director and chorus teacher Maureen Fallon goes with the troupe to state.

“State is fun, everyone learns a lot,” Fallon said. “You get to learn a lot about each other. You’re looking for superior ratings. We got two last year and just want everyone to do their best.”

Sophomore Caroline Baney says the four-day trip strengthens friendships.

“It’s a time we can all be together,” she said. “We all have a love for [drama], so we bond over that.”
