Tennis players reflect on season
The girls’ tennis team finished the regular season with a 13 -6 record, and advancing to regionals where it lost in the first round.
“It was an accomplishment in and of itself to make it to regionals because we ended up finishing districts in second,” junior Katherine Avrakodos said. “At regionals, we expected a tough match. In my opinion the match should’ve been closer then it was, but you win some and lose some.”
Throughout the season, the girls had become extremely close knit, according to Avrakodos.
“It was a blast competing and all of us girls got really close. I can’t even imagine playing without [the seniors],” she said.
The seniors are also having a hard time saying their goodbyes.
“I’m sad it was my last season because I love everybody on the team,” senior Ashley Pekmezian said. “I’m really going to miss pre-game car rides with [junior] Srimayi [Tenali] and complaining about school together.”
