Team brings cheer to holiday parade

The school’s cheerleaders will be bringing their spirit to this Saturday’s Melbourne Beach Holiday Parade. They will be cheering with and escorting the Gemini Elementary cheer yeam in the parade which starts at City Hall and turns around at the beach. The West Shore team will be participating for its fifth consecutive year. Sophomore, Amanda Moscrip is excited for the annual event.

“I think it’s a good tradition because we have a lot of fun, and I think it is a great way to participate in the holidays,” Moscrip said. “I really enjoy watching the Gemini cheerleaders and doing the cheers with them.”

Both squads, which together number about 100 cheerleaders, will perform a combined routine for the parade judges and will cheer on the go while walking in the parade. The parade starts at 9 a.m. and will move along Ocean Avenue.
