Swim team hands out awards

The swim and dive team held its annual banquet Saturday. The varsity letters and awards were passed out.

The award for most improved boy was given to Jake Repperenger.

” I was very excited when my name was announced, I’m glad that my hard work paid off,” Repperenger said. ” I hope that next year I can get the award too.”

The award for most improved girl was given to Lauren Seifert.

The award for most valuable boy was awarded to Dylan Gornto. The award for most valuable girl was won by Sydney Weatherspoon.

” The most Valuable swimmers were chosen from the way they work in practice,” Coach Don Gornto said. “Both Dylan and Sydney were both very deserving winners. They showed great passion in practice and at meets.”

Three West Shore swimming and diving records were broken this season.   Weatherspoon broke the record in the 100 back, Shelby McKeever broke the record in the 100 breast and Megan Lee broke the record in diving. All three team members also held the previous records.
