With AP exams beginning on Monday, May 5, students have been reviewing course content in class and at home.
“I appreciate the fact that we’re doing review sessions in class because it takes some pressure away knowing that we’re all in this together,” sophomore Reagan Hill said.
Hill is currently taking AP United States History, which had a pass rate of 72.2% in 2024 and 47.5% in 2023.
“To study, I’ve been reviewing content on my own,” Hill said. “I also did a practice exam to see where I am and what I need to study.”
Practice exams, whether taken as a class or with workbooks, are a common way to get a feel for the actual exams.
“We have been doing practice exams in [AP Calculus BC],” senior Kendyll Merritt said. “I’m glad we’re doing them because I use them as my review, but they get exhausting really fast.”
Some students are doing practice exams multiple times a day at school for different classes.
“I have been doing practice exams in AP Biology and AP Calculus AB,” junior Sophia Fetouh said. “It hasn’t been that bad since I have them at different times of the day, but my mind feels fried by the time I get home.”
