Volleyball team on a roll

The bright colored T-shirts and colorful hair bows can mean only one thing: volleyball season is back.  One of the most watched sports at West Shore, girls’ volleyball is anything and everything a spectator could want.  Flying candy, free giveaways and unparalleled fun, make for an enticing and exhilarating experience for all attendees.  Accompanying most matches, the girls partake in a pregame dinner, consisting of pasta, salad, chips and whatever else the parents could get their hands on.
“We just love spending time together and having a good time,” senior Kylie Wenger said. “We love each other.”

Not only do the volleyball players have fun, but they too play well as their 3-0 season record shows. On Sept. 6, the varsity team rolled in another victory against Space Coast, adding to the already impressive stats that have accompanied the start of the season.

“The Wildcats had a big district win,” Coach Bonnie Priester said after the match. “ The starters controlled the match to open up playtime for the newcomers on the team.  Tess Sheets and Alyssa Johnson both led the offense with eight kills each.  Aalekhya Tenali led the defense with 12 digs and great mentorship for her younger teammate defenders.”
